Despite the negativity towards アニメ in both culture and as a learning medium, I have to admit, I'm a big follower. While it's true that slang is rampant throughout the TV programs, it provides a wonderful medium for hearing actual spoken word 日本語. On top of that, the stories themselves are quite different from those that originate in the States. It is filled with culture unique only to 日本, and the 声優 are some of the best I've ever heard. They're miles ahead of those here who dub the shows and on par with only TV/Movie actors.
